February 15	Announcement of the discontinuation of the Magic League.
February 24	Mythic Championship Cleveland 2019. Won by Autumn Burchett.
March 25	Soft launch of Valor's Reach A Magic inspired mobile game developed by Seismic Games.
March 27	Release of the Legendary Collection Relic Tokens by UltraPro.
March 31	First Magic Invitational. Won by Andrea Mengucci. Owen Turtenwald is removed from the roster without explanation.
April 12	Release of the Challenger Decks 2019.
April 25	Mythic Championship London 2019. won by Eli Loveman. Yuuya Watanabe is disqualified after Round 16 for having marked cards.
May 3	Release of War of the Spark Featuring 37 planeswalker cards at mythic rare, rare and uncommon. Sales of the Mythic Edition break down the eBay Hasbro Store.
May 17-19	Final of the 2018 Magic Online Championship. Won by Mattia Oneto.
June 3	Netflix announces the production of an upcoming animated Magic: The Gathering TV series.
June 14	Release of Modern Horizons. Introducing new cards into Modern without them ever being legal in Standard. Featuring the Modern Horizons Art Series.
June 27	Reveal of the San Diego Comic-Con 2019 promos, featuring Nicol Bolas and his four God-Eternals.
June 27	Release of Ravnica Inquisition. A social deduction game set on Ravnica.
June 27	Introduction of Historic, a constructed non-rotating format for Magic: The Gathering Arena.
June 28	Release of Signature Spellbook: Gideon.
June 28	The Pauper format gains official tabletop support.
July 20	Release of Core Set 2020.
July 25	Wizards of the Coast announce that going forward the Magic story will be told through e-books rather than weekly episodic stories.
July 27	The Judge Program is ending, to be replaced with a Judge Academy that will require a yearly subscription fee.
July 28	Mythic Championship IV in Barcelona, Spain. Won by Thoralf Severin.
August 14	Elaine Chase announces several improvements to the Organized Play structure, including the creation of the Rivals League, the MPL Gauntlet, the Players Tour and Player Points for tabletop gaming.
August 19	Wizards of the Coast launches the open beta of the Magic: The Gathering Companion app, a home tournament organizer. The Magic: The Gathering Portal app is consequently cancelled.
October 4	Release of Throne of Eldraine Inspired by the romantic Arthurian legend of Camelot and Grimms' Fairy Tales. Featuring Draft Boosters, Theme Boosters and Collector Boosters. Introducing Showcase cards.
October 18-20	Mythic Championship V on MTG Arena. Won by Javier Dominguez.
October 29	Release of Ponies: The Galloping A three-card charity promotional card set that is a crossover with Hasbro's My Little Pony franchise.
November 7	Release of the Mystery Booster (Convention Edition) A booster product containing cards from earlier sets that can be used for Chaos Draft. Also contains "test cards" that are not meant for Constructed play. They feature various new mechanics.
November 8	Release of Challenger Decks 2019 Japan. Only available in Japan.
November 15	Release of the Throne of Eldraine Gift Edition.
November 15	Release of Game Night 2019. Containing 5 exclusive cards.
November 8–10	Mythic Championship VI in Richmond, USA. Won by Ondřej Stráský.
December 2 - 9	Release of the Secret Lair Drop Series. Introducing the new “sub-brand” Secret Lair. Featuring small collectible sets of existing cards with strange themes and wild new art styles. Only available for purchase from the Wizards of the Coast webshop, and each "drop"for one day only.
December 6-8	Mythic Championship VII on MTG Arena. Won by Piotr Glogowski.
December 12	The 2019 Magic Pro League is won by Javier Dominguez.
December 12	Introduction of the Magic Online Premier Play Program, replacing the Magic Online Championship Series.
December 12	Introduction of Magic: Legends, a MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game). Created by Wizards of the Coast, Cryptic Studios and Perfect World.
