Algli is a tanner from Innistrad who is responsible for the return of the angel Liesa.

Algli is a resilient and determined woman who once worked as a tanner in the forests of Innistrad, alongside her husband. She experienced significant loss and hardship, including the violent deaths of her family and the desecration of their graves by a ghoulcaller. Despite the overwhelming darkness surrounding her, Algli's resolve remained unbroken. She turned to forbidden rites and joined Olutio in a desperate attempt to summon the Buried Lord, hoping to find peace and protection for the dead and the living. Algli's journey was marked by grief, defiance, and a relentless pursuit of a glimmer of hope in a world consumed by horror.[1]

Algli, once a tanner living outside of town, faced increasing threats from werewolves, ghouls, and other horrors. She and her husband tried to protect their family, but an attack by coordinated ghouls resulted in the deaths of her husband and sons. Algli burned down their tannery to survive, only to later see her family's bodies raised by a ghoulcaller. She joined Olutio, whose daughter had suffered a similar fate, in a quest to summon the Buried Lord, a being they believed could lay the dead to rest.
Algli, Olutio, and Sruta performed a ritual in a moonlit clearing, sacrificing a goat to summon the Buried Lord. When the ritual failed, Sruta left in frustration, but Algli stayed, overwhelmed by sorrow. She encountered Liesa, a dark-haired angel who warned her that the Buried Lord was no protector but a demon. Together, they pursued the Buried Lord to prevent further deaths.
They found Olutio's corpse and followed Sruta's screams to a clearing where the Buried Lord was attacking her. Despite Liesa's efforts, the Buried Lord killed Sruta. Liesa wounded the demon, but he attempted to escape. Algli's desperate incantations inadvertently strengthened the Buried Lord. Realizing the futility of her actions, Algli defiantly thrust her torch into the demon's mouth. Liesa used the flame to deliver a final, fatal blow to the Buried Lord.
Algli, though wounded and exhausted, survived the encounter. She was aided by Liesa, who helped her to her feet, symbolizing a glimmer of hope and resilience amidst the relentless darkness of Innistrad. And thus, Algli became the reborn Liesa's first follower.[1]
