Archangel

Archangel

Archangels are higher ranked and often considered the strongest type of angel.

Description[ | ]

Archangels have appeared on Alara, Dominaria, Innistrad, Kaladesh, Mirrodin, Serra's Realm, and Zendikar. Visions featured a generic card called Archangel from Dominaria.

In Serra's Realm, Radiant was an archangel who oversaw the realm in Serra's absence. On Alara, Asha is a mythological archangel while Maelstrom Archangels wield the power of all five kinds of mana instead of just one. During New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse, an echo of Serra helped Elspeth Tirel ascend into an archangel planeswalker. On Innistrad, Avacyn and Liesa were both known as archangels. On Zendikar, when most of the plane's memory of the Eldrazi faded over time, a select few greater archangels including Iona were powerful enough to resist their reign and maintain their sight, their loyalty to the downtrodden, and their ability for voluntary action.[1]
