The Birth of the Elder Dragons was an event during the Mythohistory of Dominaria.
History[ | ]
The Birth of the Elder Dragons is the first known historical event when the Ur-Dragon came to Dominaria and seeded it with eggs that hatched into Elder Dragons. The dragons hatched in this manner included Merrevia Sal, Arcades Sabboth, Chromium Rhuell, Lividus, Nicol Bolas, Palladia-Mors, Piru, Ravus, Rubra, Ugin, and Vaevictis Asmadi, but there were others as well, whose names have been lost to time.[1]
After the birth was completed, the Ur-Dragon left Dominaria for the Blind Eternities. When humans found the newly hatched Merrevia Sal, they used the opportunity of her weakened state to kill her. This act was witnessed by Ugin and Nicol Bolas[1] and was the root cause of the Dragon-killers' War half a century later.[2]
