Blight counters are a type of counter introduced in Bloomburrow.[1]
Description[]
Blight counters represent the expanding of trail of death left by the Rottenmouth Viper, a Calamity Beast from Bloomburrow. Whenever the Viper enters or attacks, it's controller's opponents lose 4 life unless they sacrifice a nonland permanent or discard a card.
In Final Fantasy, blight counters serve a different function. When Ultima, Origin of Oblivion attacks, target land loses all abilities and land types, taps for one colorless mana, and gains a blight counter. They stay this way while a blight counter remains on them.
