Boris was an Umbris cultist from Traublassen, Innistrad, and the son of Lord Vytas.
Description[ | ]
Boris was a burly, taciturn noble and trapper from Traublassen with an imposing presence and an air of unrefined confidence. His rough demeanor, characterized by a face like an anvil and an attitude to match, reflected his life spent in the rugged, gritty environment of the pelt and fur trade. A descendant of a line of notable builders, Boris took pride in his heritage, particularly in the grand, hellkite-embellished door constructed by his great-great-grandfather Taivas. Despite his pride, Boris had a stark, somewhat unpleasant personality that put him at odds with others, particularly those who did not share his background or grit.
History[ | ]
Boris's story is marked by his role as a guide and eventual betrayer of Torens and Aleksandar. Initially, Boris was tasked by his father with guiding Torens through the old keep, a once-grand structure now in ruins. Boris’s role took a darker turn when he suddenly abandoned Torens and Aleksandar, fleeing back to the town amid an ominous sense of impending danger.
The real twist in Boris's actions was revealed when, upon Torens and Aleksandar entering the keep, they discovered that Boris and Vytas were part of a sinister cult dedicated to the worship of the nightmare horror Umbris. This discovery came as they encountered Eruth, a captured prophet, who revealed that the keep was a trap for sacrifices to their horrific master.
As Torens and Eruth confronted Umbris and uncovered the truth about the cult's activities, Boris was revealed to be one of the cultists and was ultimately surrounded by a mob seeking retribution. His final moments were marked by the mob's anger, as the villagers, having learned of the cult’s dark deeds, turned against Vytas and his followers. Boris, along with the rest of the Umbris cult, was caught in this frenzy of justice and retribution. [1]
