Boruvo is a Selesnyan centaur spearmaster on the plane of Ravnica, and Araithia Shokta's godfather.

Description[ | ]

Boruvo is a teacher at the Kasarna Training Grounds. He is Araithia Shokta's godfather and Keeper of her Life Pledge. Boruvo is a centaur with a stern, typically Gruul-like expression that brightens when he sees his goddaughter. Like her, he once belonged to the Gruul Ghor clan, and he is all but exceptional in the fact that he can see through her concealment enchantment, which is why he was chosen to be her godfather.

When he joined the Selesnya Conclave, he created a rift with his former friends, including his goddaughter's parents. As a Conclave spearmaster, he holds a respected position within Selesnya, often seen leading or commanding with a strong, authoritative presence. Despite his stern demeanor, he has a softer side, particularly towards his goddaughter, with whom he shares a close and affectionate bond.

History[ | ]

Boruvo, a centaur and skilled spearmaster, transitioned from being a member of the Gruul Clans to joining the Selesnya Conclave about ten years before the War of the Spark. This change caused a rift with his old friends but strengthened his bond with his goddaughter, Araithia Shokta. Araithia, although Gateless, maintained a close relationship with Boruvo, who continually encouraged her to join Selesnya, believing it to be her true calling. When Araithia needed to introduce her friend, Kaya Cassir, to the Selesnya leaders, Boruvo agreed to help despite his initial reluctance. He accompanied her and her friends to meet with Emmara Tandris and the dryad Trostani, helping to facilitate a crucial alliance to fight against Nicol Bolas. He later joined in the fighting against the Eternals and survived the War of the Spark, joining the rebuilding efforts.
