Brian Braun-Duin is an American professional player and former World Champion, having won the 2016 World Championship.
Professional play[ | ]
He has two Grand Prix wins, at GP Louisville 2013 and GP New Jersey 2014, in 13 total top eights. He has also experienced significant success at the independent SCG Open circuit, and has been a prolific writer for several years, first for Star City Games, and since 2016 for ChannelFireball. In the 2015–16 season, he won the Grand Prix Player of the Year race, thus securing himself a spot at the 2016 World Championship, which he ultimately won. At the Pro Tour level, his best finish to date is 6th-place at Mythic Championship London 2019. In December 2018, it was announced that Braun-Duin would be one of the 32 players joining the upcoming 2019 Magic Pro League. Finishing in the Top 20, he could continue in the 2020 Season and the 2020-21 season. For the final league season, he was relegated to the Rivals League.
