Description[ | ]
Chiye is a sharp-witted, pragmatic individual with a round face and shrewd eyes, who exudes a blend of practical skill and understated charm. Above their head, three long-handled teapots orbit in the air, which they are adept with, serving as their unique tool for both cooking and combat, using them to manipulate steam for various purposes. Chiye’s demeanor suggests a life spent navigating both the grittier and more nuanced aspects of their world, making them a reliable and perceptive ally. Their loyalty is evident in their close relationship with Heiko Yamazaki, showcasing a mix of tough love and deep affection.[1]
History[ | ]
Chiye first encountered Heiko Yamazaki in a dimly lit café in Sokenzanshi. As Chiye served soup, Heiko stumbled towards them, exhausted and desperate after a chase by Imperial mechs. Chiye recognized Heiko's distress and offered her a meal while teasing her about the wild nature of her escape. During this interaction, Heiko confides her need to find Risona, a key figure in her quest for a new start. Chiye introduced Heiko to Risona, who was seated in the café’s corner, leading to a pivotal moment where Heiko pledged her commitment to justice despite the harsh realities she faced, effectively joining the Asari Uprisers.
Twelve years and six months later, Heiko and Chiye were caught robbing an Imperial train car full of provisions meant for the city's hungry. Their mission was interrupted when they were captured by Imperial enforcers and brought before Commander Norika Yamazaki, Heiko’s estranged cousin. The confrontation was fraught with personal and political tension. Heiko, grappling with unresolved family issues and the urgent need to address the city's suffering, engaged in a heated dialogue with Norika.
Norika agreed to negotiate rather than imprison Heiko and Chiye despite their strained relationship. She promised to address some of the city's demands with the Imperial Council, while Heiko and Chiye navigated a delicate balance of trust and skepticism. Chiye’s steadfast support and their shared commitment to the cause underscored the personal sacrifices involved in their struggle. The resolution was a tentative agreement to improve conditions in Sokenzanshi, reflecting the complex interplay of family loyalty and the broader fight for justice.[1]
