Clown is a creature class introduced for Unfinity.[2] While initially largely acorn-stamped, the type appeared on eternal legal cards as well before debuting in a premier set with the release of Duskmourn: House of Horror.

Description[]

Clowns are comic entertainers who wear traditional comical costumes and exaggerated make-up, especially in a circus. In Unfinity all but one of the Clowns are Robots, but not all the Robots are Clowns. This helped to avoid the creepy clown trope.[2]

Technical clowns have been portrayed in black-bordered Magic in factions like the Cult of Rakdos, which are entertainers visually modeled after harlequins. However, they are not typed as clowns.

Clowns are similar to Zombies, in that they can both be a race and a class.[3]

History[]

After Unfinity, Clown reappeared in Duskmourn: House of Horror, where a subset of razorkins are represented as murder clowns.
