Cosi, the trickster god, is the Zendikar Merfolk deity of the realms of land and earth.[1] He is known as Talib by the Kor and is their god of the earth, the body of the world. Both deities are male and come from the same source: long-lost memories of the terrible Eldrazi Kozilek.

Seen as a force of chaos, regular merfolk never laid offerings at the feet of Cosi's statues, and they called him the forbidden god.[1] However, he was worshipped in secret by children and the elusive Tricksters, who were willing to break normal rules for the benefit of the tribe.
Cosi is believed to take the form of a handsome humanlike being with a mischievous grin. He carries two kor-inspired hooked ropes that he uses to meddle in mortal affairs.[2]
Trivia[ | ]
- The shape of Cosi's crown and chest piece in the art of Shrine of the Forsaken Gods are reminiscent of Kozilek's appearance, especially in Kozilek, the Great Distortion. The high collar and crown's shadow envelopes the neck, making him look headless, and the open right hand has sharp digits and no finger detail, looking like the bifurcated claws.
