Magic: The Gathering cosplay, is cosplay centered around the game of Magic.

Cosplay, a portmanteau of the words costume play, is a performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character from a certain franchise. The term "cosplay" was coined in Japan in 1984 and has been applied to a wide range of anime, manga, cartoons, comics, television series, and video games. The rapid growth in the number of people cosplaying as a hobby since the 1990s has made the phenomenon a significant aspect of popular culture in Japan and some other parts of Asia and in the Western world.
For Magic, any entity that lends itself to dramatic interpretation (most often planeswalkers or legendary creatures, but sometimes also just a catching cardface) may be taken up as a subject. Cosplayers often attend conventions, MagicFests and other events.[1][2] It is not unusual to see genders switched.[3]

In the context of Magic: the Gathering, cosplay first began to be noted during the 2011 World Championships with the appearance of Christine Sprankle costumed as Elspeth, Knight-Errant.[4][5][6]
In 2022, the Magic 30 convention featured a Cosplay Contest, featuring Olivia Gobert-Hicks and Taalia Vess, hosted by Anna Prosser and Holly Conrad.[7]

Pyromancer's Gauntlet[ | ]
In 2023, a Premium Roleplay Collectible became available from Hasbro: Chandra's Pyromancer Gauntlet. The gauntlet features multiple electronic effects with lights and sounds, as well as misting effects. This wearable gauntlet includes a display stand, refill bottle (for the misting effect), as well as three pairs of gloves and three replacement wicks. An alternate art Pyromancer's Gauntlet card is also included. The Magic: The Gathering Chandra Pyromancer's Gauntlet Roleplay Collectible is priced at $299.99.[8]
