Cragflame is a magical artifact sword on the plane of Bloomburrow.[1]

Description[ | ]

Cragflame is crafted from a massive tooth of the Wildfire Wolf, honed down to a size manageable for little folk.[2] It has a sigil-etched, curved blade that is sharpened on both edges, tapering to a wicked point. The hilt is simple, and cord-wrapped, while the pommel is carved into the shape of a dancing flame.

When used, a sheen of flame ripples along the sword, sigils on the blade give off a reddish light, and a magical warmth imbues its wielder.[2] Its enchanted flames can be called upon by its wielder in times of need, forming the shape of a wolf, and it is known to burn those who try to steal it to ashes.[3]

History[ | ]

Cragflame was first known to be wielded by Lily of the Valley, who used it to drive the Calamity Beasts far away from Valley.[2] Since then, it has been passed down through generations of members of the Order of the Holly Leaf.[4] It was passed through Mabel's great-great-grandmother through to her mother, Iris, and eventually to Mabel.[2]

Around 4564 AR, Mabel used the blade in defense of Valley against the Calamity Beasts.[2]
