Cyril Rav was a necro-alchemist from Innistrad whose use of a geist-bomb turned him into a geist that could possess people's bodies.

Cyril Rav was a necro-alchemist whose experiments led to him becoming a powerful possessing geist. His use of a geistbomb — an explosive device powered by dead souls —resulted in a catastrophic incident, killing many people and causing widespread destruction. This incident left lingering malevolent geists, including Millicent, a powerful and angry spirit who lost her life due to Cyril's machinations.
The aftermath of Cyril's actions is a haunting presence in the Plane, where geists now seek vengeance on those they perceive as morally corrupt or responsible for their suffering. The detective Jacob Hauken and his associate Eloise Wicker investigated these geist attacks, leading them to uncover the connection between the geists and Cyril Rav.
Lord Nellick, a wealthy and influential merchant, became suspected of being linked to these events. Jacob and Eloise's investigation revealed Nellick's possible involvement and knowledge of Cyril Rav, as Eliose and in turn her physician seemed to have been possessed by a geist that initially was transferred from Nellick. Nellick's behavior and the chilling ambiance of his mansion suggest he has more to hide, possibly even a direct connection to Cyril Rav or his dark experiments.
Confronting Nellick in his chilling receiving room, Jacob uncovered that Nellick possesses an uncanny, controlling power reminiscent of Cyril Rav's influence over geists. Despite the opulent setting, the atmosphere was pervaded by darkness and dread. As Jacob pieced together the connections between Nellick, Eloise, and the geists, he faced the grim realization of the deeper, sinister forces at play - Cyril Rav had possessed Nellick's body and attempted to move his spirit into Jacob's own. Jacob, however, was prepared for this, and his special powers stunned Cyril as he attempted to shift bodies. Cyril then surprised Jacob by offering a deal for the two of them working together.
