D&D Mythic Odysseys of Theros is a Dungeons & Dragons campaign sourcebook created for the Magic: The Gathering setting of Theros.[1][2] The physical book was released by Wizards of the Coast on July 21, 2020 for a price of $49.95. The earlier announced physical release date of June 2, 2020 was moved up due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[3] Digital versions of the book were still released on D&D Beyond, Roll20, and Fantasy Grounds on the originally announced release date.[3]

Description[ | ]

Clash with the gods of Theros in this campaign setting sourcebook for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.

This is the second official crossover between the two fantasy brands owned by Wizards of the Coast / Hasbro, after D&D Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica. Legends walk the lands of Theros, a realm shaped by deities and the deeds of heroes. From the temples of omen-speaking oracles to the five realms of the Underworld, the champions of the gods vie for immortal favor and a place among the world’s living myths.

Choose a supernatural gift that sets you on the path of destiny, align yourself with one of Theros’s fifteen gods, then carve a tale of odysseys and ordeals across the domains of mortals, gods, and the dead.

What legends will you challenge — mighty heroes, inevitable prophecies, or titans imprisoned by the gods? Where will destiny and immortal schemes lead you? And what tales will you leave behind, celebrated in the pantheon of myths and writ among the eternal stars?

Introducing supernatural gifts — abilities that set your character apart from the common throng. Mechanically similar to character races, each one gives your character a variety of traits.

Select one of the new races for your character — such mythic peoples as the leonin or a satyr.

New subclasses include the Bard’s College of Eloquence, masters of oratory; and the Paladin’s Oath of Glory, an affirmation of destiny laid out for you by divine providence.

Encounter mythic monsters, creatures whose power and renown are such that their names are truly living myths. More than simply legendary, these creatures have abilities that will create a challenge fit for the gods.

Wield god-weapons, signature items of the gods that allow your character to stand apart from other heroes. These can be a gift from your deity or perhaps you boldly stole it from them in a bid for ultimate power.

Alt cover[ | ]

An alternative cover with a distinctive design and soft-touch finish is available exclusively through game stores starting on July 21, 2020. The earlier announced physical release date of June 2, 2020 was moved up due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Theros maps[ | ]

To help mitigate the delay in release and encourage fans to preorder, WPN members will receive twenty reference maps, each depicting four key areas from Mythic Odysseys of Theros, to provide to customers when they receive the book.[3] The maps are available only by purchasing the book through a local game store. The map is double-sided, measures 13x19 inches, and is coated in a dry-erase film laminate so it can be written on and reused for multiple adventures.[3]

D&D Beyond codes[ | ]

The first twenty fans who preorder or buy Mythic Odysseys of Theros through a WPN member store will also receive a unique code that redeems for a 50% discount on a digital copy of Mythic Odysseys of Theros through D&D Beyond.[3] All customers are eligible to receive a code, whether they preorder or buy the book online or in person. Codes can be given out as soon as customers place their orders, and are redeemable right away on D&D Beyond, with the content unlocking on June 2.[3]
