Brothers' War Dark Age Ice Age (event)

The Dark Age, or The Dark, was a period of time after the Sylex Blast in 64 A.R. and before 450 A.R. when the Ice Age fully began on Dominaria.[1]

Description[ | ]

During this era, in the aftermath of the blast, Dominaria's climate became colder and resources became scarce.[2] The Fall of Penregon, once the mighty capital of the developed nation of Argive, would be a chilling reminder for years to come of the approaching ice from the northern ridges of Terisiare.

Quaking before the climatic shifts rocking the plane, the peoples of every land fell under the control of zealots and despots. Because of the Brothers' War, the use of magic and artifice was condemned by the Church of Tal and outlawed by the nascent city-states, so mages practiced in secret. The people were broken into factions, and each rose against the others. It was a time of persecution and corruption when it seemed as if the end of the world was at hand.
