Deidamia is a non-binary witch from Innistrad.

History[ | ]

Deidamia, a witch known for their pumpkin carving and nurturing of hope, was a beacon of light during the Harvesttide Festival in Innistrad, where people from all corners of the realm gathered under the ancient Celestus. They worked tirelessly to bring joy to children by crafting intricate pumpkin suns, a symbol of hope in a land overshadowed by perpetual darkness. As they engaged with festivalgoers and kept their wards vigilant, they found solace in the small acts of celebration, sharing spiced cider with friends and keeping an eye on the festival’s safety.[1]

The mood shifted dramatically when heroes, Arlinn Kord among them, arrived, causing excitement and distraction among the crowd. As Deidamia took a moment to pour themselves another glass of cider, a sudden and sharp pain indicated that their protective wards had fallen. This was followed by a chilling howl, signaling a grave threat. Amid the festival's joy, Deidamia’s world was abruptly threatened by the onset of a dire situation. The celebration was violently interrupted by an attack from Tovolar's werewolf pack, leading to a massacre that claimed many lives, including that of the witch Katilda. Despite the chaos and their heartbreak, Deidamia survived the attack and continued to fight against the encroaching darkness.[1]

In the aftermath, Deidamia was seen among those who tended to the wounded and sick, trying to provide what solace they could in a world increasingly overrun by despair and vampire oppression. They were present during a meeting where heroes and witches strategized against the relentless threats plaguing Innistrad. Deidamia's dedication to helping others remained steadfast, even as the Plane's dire situation unfolded —marked by an endless night, rising vampire dominance, and dwindling hope among the people. The witch's resilience and commitment to nurturing hope in a seemingly doomed world continued to be a beacon amid the pervasive darkness.[2]
