Template:Expansion Nonblock Eight Edition (9th Edition) is the eighth Core Set. Eighth Edition was released on July 29, 2003.
Eighth Edition features 350 cards including cards from every expansion set since Alpha. For the first time, the set also features randomly inserted premium black-bordered versions of all cards in the set. Also look for oversized Box-Topper Cards found at the top of each booster display box.
Cycles
- Circles of protection: Circle of Protection: White, Circle of Protection: Blue, Circle of Protection: Black, Circle of Protection: Red and Circle of Protection: Green are each common white enchantments with the ability to prevent the next damage from a source of a color for 1 mana.
- Life Gaining Artifacts — Crystal Rod, Iron Star, Ivory Cup, Throne of Bone and Wooden Sphere
