Earth is a non-canon plane subtype featured on several Planechase cards in Doctor Who.
Description[ | ]
This article or section discusses story elements that are not canonical. |
Earth, also known as the Earth and Planet Earth, is a planet in the solar system whose native sapient species included the human race and the Silurians. It is the third planet from the Sun and therefore also known as Sol III (or Sol 3), though mainly to extraterrestrial cultures. Earth is a favorite of The Doctor.
Fallout depicts an alternate future Earth after a nuclear apocalypse.
Note on canonicity[ | ]
Earth is not considered to be part of either the Multiverse or the Un-iverse.[1][2][3] This is because R&D doesn't want to tell stories about planeswalkers visiting Earth or being from Earth.[4] Gavin Verhey used Earth as a non-canon plane for Wizards of the Coast in the Unknown Event at MagicCon Minneapolis 2023.[5] As the test cards in the event are designed to be humorous or silly, it is not considered a change in position on the use of Earth as a plane. Earth also appeared in the art on the Heroes of the Realm celebration card Euroakus.
The setting of Portal Three Kingdoms closely resembles historic Earth, but is retroactively considered to be a parallel plane.[6][7][8]
