Eiyo (EY-yo) is a kami from Kamigawa who was active during the Kami War.

Description[ | ]

Eiyo is the Kami of Honored Fallen[1]

Eiyo, the Kami of Honored Fallen, manifests in two distinct forms, each reflecting different aspects of its ancient, revered nature. In its warrior form, Eiyo stands thirty feet tall, a colossal figure of gleaming, polished metal that dazzles in sunlight. Its body is clad in ancient, interlocking plates of samurai-like armor, with some sections scarred from countless battles while others glisten as if newly forged. Eiyo’s arms are composed of hundreds of fused katana blades, ending in bloodstained spear-tipped claws that scrape the treetops. Its head is a massive kabuto helmet, with a fierce scowl and empty eye slits burning with an ethereal fire, exuding an aura of sadness and rage. Surrounding Eiyo are dozens of glowing helmets representing fallen warriors, orbiting like mournful specters. When Eiyo moves, the clatter of armor and metal echoes through the forest, instilling dread as the ground quakes and the air trembles in the kami’s fearsome presence, silencing nature itself.[1]

However, Eiyo can also manifest into a more abstract, almost incomprehensible form that embodies the ethereal and transcendent aspects of its being. In this alternate form, Eiyo appears as a collection of organic, organ-like shapes that vaguely resemble a body, with large wings unfurling from its back. Floating around it are white ribbons, gold filigree masks, and a hovering sword, all moving with serene, otherworldly grace. This form reflects Eiyo's connection to the spiritual realm and the honored dead, emphasizing its role as a guardian and guide for those who have passed beyond the mortal plane.[2]
