Erem is a kor from Zendikar who was compleated during New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse.

Description[ | ]

Erem was a battle-hardened kor warrior, shaped by the relentless calamities that had plagued Zendikar. He was practical and cautious, often speaking with a tone of guarded realism, as shown by his blunt responses to Nahiri's inquiries. Deeply connected to his world and people, Erem's knowledge of the Eldrazi's devastation and the ongoing Phyrexian invasion informed his quick judgment and stoic demeanor. Despite the overwhelming terror the enemy inspired, his courage and determination shone through as he stood alongside seasoned leaders like Tazri, driven by a strong sense of duty to protect his home. However, the horrors of war and his lack of experience with Phyrexian warfare ultimately led to his tragic downfall, a testament to the relentless nature of the battles that consumed Zendikar.[1][2]

History[ | ]

During the Rise of the Eldrazi, Erem interacted with Nahiri after she returned to Zendikar, wounded and disoriented. He observed her lack of gear and bluntly questioned her about her awareness of the ongoing Eldrazi devastation. When Nahiri expressed her intent to travel to Bala Ged, Erem noted the distance and the futility of the journey, implying the extensive damage that had been done. Despite Nahiri's offer to outfit him, Erem declined, stating that they had an abundance of gear due to their many losses. Erem's responses highlighted the grim reality that had befallen Zendikar and reflected his practical mindset in the face of overwhelming challenges.[1]

During New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse, Erem participated in the intense battle at Sea Gate. He fought bravely alongside Tazri against the invading Phyrexian forces, and despite his fear, he managed to hold his ground and defended Tazri's flank as they faced wave after wave of enemies. However, Erem was eventually wounded when a Phyrexian spear pierced his leg, dragging him toward a seedpod. Tazri tried to save him, but before she could, Erem was captured by the Phyrexians and sealed within the pod. His screams turned to twisted, mechanical laughter as the Phyrexians assimilated him.[2] His ultimate fate after the war is unknown.
