Eric Froehlich is an American professional Magic player. Froehlich is also a professional poker player; he has won two World Series of Poker bracelets, and his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,300,000.
Professional play[ | ]
He has made the top eight of five Pro Tours and 19 Grand Prix events, with two wins. Several of Froehlich's Grand Prix Top 8s have come in team events, in which he has teamed with such prominent professional players as Kamiel Cornelissen, Jon Finkel, Brian Kibler, Luis Scott-Vargas, and Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa. In 2015, he was voted into the Hall of Fame.
In December 2018, it was announced that Froehlich would be one of the 32 players joining the upcoming 2019 Magic Pro League. A year later, he was relegated to the Rivals League. With his wife Athena Huey taking a full-time job as Community Manager, he was forced to step down from competitive play before the 2020-2021 season.[1]
