Fall of Soldev Fall of the School of the Unseen Battle of Kjeldor

The Fall of the School of the Unseen was an event that occurred on Terisiare in 2954 AR.

Description[]

The Fall of the School of the Unseen was directly preceded by the Fall of Soldev, led by Jaya Ballard possessed by the spirit of Mairsil-Lim-Dûl. Jaya sent the Phyrexian War Beasts and the Soldevi Steam Beasts to the largest collection of black mana on Terisiare, which was the bottomless pit that had been placed in the School of the Unseen by Leshrac. The War Beasts and the Steam Beasts immediately set about destroying the school, which could only mount partial defenses due to the large-scale destruction caused by the beasts.[1]

The Magus of the Unseen, Gerda Äagesdotter managed to use a crafted staff containing Lim-Dûl's severed hand to overcharge and destroy one of the Phyrexian War Beasts, and another was defeated near a local farm. The mages of the school also succeeded in destroying all of the steam beasts, but their numbers quickly ran low, and six war beasts remained until the newly sparked planeswalker Jaya showed up, now cleansed of Mairsil-Lim-Dûl's influence. Jaya lifted the remaining war beasts into the air and crushed them, sending their burning remains into the ocean like multi-colored meteorites.[1]

Jaya and Jodah then descended to the dungeons of the school, where Jaya was able to cut the source of the magic to the bottomless pit, removing its connection to Phyrexia and rendering it a non-magical pit with an actual bottom. Despite Jaya's actions, it was too late to save the integrity of the school, which had suffered near-total destruction. Surviving members of the school, including Gerda Äagesdotter and Ozmar Starkaadison, took what remained of the school's inventory, and let Jaya guide them far east, off the continent of Terisiare, possibly to the Domains. Jodah, now no longer the Archmage of the Unseen, decided to let his name fade into myth until the time would be right for his return.[1]
