Gavin Verhey is a game designer/developer for Wizards of the Coast; he is also a former Pro Tour player.[1]

Biography

Gavin Verhey has numerous tournament accomplishments, and has played on the Pro Tour numerous times. Additionally, he was an early contributor on MTG Salvation, wrote weekly articles for Star City Games[2] and had a blog on game design and development called Design Space.[3]

Verhey became a Game and Product Designer for Wizards of the Coast in October 2011. Mark Rosewater considers him to be part of the fifth generation of Magic designers. As 'experience designer' he was for example responsible for prerelease activities for Magic 2015 and Khans of Tarkir. In 2016, he became part of the Product Architecture team.[4]

Verhey is currently one of the main writers on magicthegathering.com. He can frequently be found on Twitter,[5] and often posts on Reddit. Since 2020, he has his own show on YouTube: Good Morning Magic!.
