The Hand of Justice is an avatar of law on Dominaria.
Description[]
The Hand of Justice is an embodiment of the ideal of justice. It does not require eating, sleep, or relaxation and is content with only meting out justice.[1]
Sarpadian Hand[]
The avatar that was summoned in Sarpadia wore officious blue and red robes with a fur-lined cloak and a headpiece marked with the scales of justice. His skin was the color of burnished copper tinged with green patina, and he wore a black beard with an exceptionally long mustache.[2]
Jamuraan Hand[]
The avatar that was summoned in Ki'pamu by the Civic guild wore a tall, gaunt frame and the burnoose of a desert nomad. His flesh and garments were the color of rolling white dunes, and there was a bleakness, a vacancy to his gaze, something akin to the vast and sterile spaces where only heat and light could long endure. Any sorcerer could perceive he was a being of pure holy mana. His voice was like the whisper of drifting sand.[1]
History[]
Sarpadian Hand[]
A Hand of Justice was present in the nation of Icatia on the continent of Sarpadia just before the Fall of the Sarpadian Empires. It may have been summoned by Oliver Farrel.[2] This avatar's actions are unknown.
Jamuraan Hand[]
Millennia later, another Hand of Justice was summoned by Tartesk Hajeen to stop crime in the city of Ki'pamu. The avatar obliged but eventually started indiscriminately targeting the city's poor, who often had committed minor crimes. With events quickly escalating, Tartesk's nephew Sabul Hajeen saw no other option but to ally himself with his family's arch-enemy, the necromancer Jhossendea Ilmiera. Together, the two of them managed to banish the Hand of Justice, and in the process started to mend the age-old enmity between their two families.[1]
