Hole counter are a type of counter introduced on a Test card at the 2024 Unknown Event at MagicCon Chicago.

Description[ | ]

Hole counters first appeared on the Impressive Rat test card as part of an Unknown Event. Whenever Impressive Rat dies, a hole counter is added to a land the owner doesn't control. Then the player is able to investigate whenever the marked land is tapped. This represents the rat digging a hole through the opponent's land causing it to continue to intrigue due to the hole. It has yet to appear on an actual card.
