Imp is a mainly black creature type used for cards that depict small, pesky, bat-like lesser demons. The first creature to bear the type was Nettling Imp in Alpha.

- Zendikar (Cadaver Imp)
- Tarkir (Reckless Imp)
Notable Imps[]
- Blim — the first Legendary imp.
- Chimney Imp — This imp is infamous for its relatively high mana cost compared to its abilities and power/toughness ratio.
- Putrid Imp — This imp has seen a lot of play in madness decks.
Trivia[]
- Blim is currently the only black and red Imp.
- Deepcavern Imp is the only Imp with a creature class.
- Blistering Dieflyn, Chaos Imps, and Fire Imp are currently the only red Imps.
- Teferi's Imp is the only blue Imp.
- Vault Skirge is the only Artifact Imp.
