The Ivory Tower, or Order of the Ivory Towers, was an order of bookkeepers named after the Ivory Towers of Terisia City, at the time of the Brothers' War on Dominaria. They became part of the Third Path during the war.
Description[ | ]
A woman known as the Archimandrite presided over Terisia City from the tallest of the Ivory Towers. As the leader of the bookkeepers of the legendary Ivory Tower, the Archimandrite was approached by members of the College of Lat-Nam - Hurkyl, Drafna, and Feldon. They attended meetings with the Archimandrite of the Order to establish the Union of the Third Path, an alliance of magic users, historians, intellectuals, and artificers from across the continent.
Members of this Union were the first to delve into the arcane and rigorously study it, perhaps in all of Terisiare's history. Because of its friendly atmosphere, people of all cultures flocked to Terisia City to join the teams of mages and scholars and seek shelter from the chaos elsewhere, although this also attracted members of the Brotherhood of Gix, who secretly harbored other loyalties. The Union between the Ivory Tower, the College, and the Brotherhood officially elected to seek neutrality in the war between Urza and Mishra, and thus named itself the Third Path.
