Javin was an archaeologist from Argivia who worked on excavating old Sumifa.[1]
Description[ | ]
Javin was an archaeologist, a tall, brown-haired man of forty-five at the time of the rediscovery of old Sumifa (3050 AR or 15 CE). He was the last living member of the Circle, an order tracing its origins back to the Time of Legends. He was a distant descendant of the dark prince, Porros.[1]
History[ | ]
Javin discovered a reference to the buried city of old Sumifa while working in the stacks of Argivia's oldest library. Against his greatest personal wishes, he was sent to recover the ruins from the desert with his foster son Cheyne. The king of Sumifa, Thedeso, died during his excavation. He hoped to find the buried corpse of Samor and his Holy Book of the Confessors in the ruins beneath the sands. It was Cheyne who found the book and took it to Sumifa, where he got into a brawl with assassins sent by Riolla Hifrata. Javin followed him and found the holy book in the hands of Claria's former servant Vishka, who had picked it up after the fight.[1]
Realizing that Cheyne was headed to the Borderlands, Javin followed him despite a slowly festering scorpion sting. Catching up to him near Sarraza, Javin revealed to his foster son that it was one of Javin's spells that protected Cheyne from discovery by the evil Porros, which also caused his image and last name to be hidden. Javin then passed out from his injury, but Cheyne brought him to the elf healer Luquin, who cured Javin of the scorpion poison.[1]
