Kagemaro (KAH-gay-MAH-roh);[1] kage かげ "shadow" + maro まろ male suffix)[2][3] First to Suffer, is an oni on Kamigawa that was once a human.
Description[]
Kagemaro's human flesh tones are still visible, and his seven pairs of hands appear human, but there is little else evoking his original life form. His body is swollen into a grotesque bulbous sack that trails behind him, and atop what remains of his torso is a dark purple sphere with a skeletal horned mask on it. He wields four bladed weapons in some of his hands - a katana, a tanto, a naginata, and a wakizashi, as well as a flail in a fifth. Darkly glowing rocks hover in the air around him.[4]

Kagemaro was the first human to become so evil that his spirit became an oni.[5]
