Karrak was a Fallaji soldier who fought on the side of Mishra in the Brothers' War.
Description[]
Karrak was a Suwwardi soldier in Mishra's army of Fallaji, an experienced and battle-weary veteran of the war against the Argivians. He was a member of the Third Tomakul Spears, serving alongside his friend Farid. Unlike the fresh replacements who arrived with high spirits and misconceptions about the nature of the conflict, Karrak had been hardened by the harsh realities of warfare. He was physically weakened, plagued by illness, which had left him shivering and coughing, wrapped in multiple cloaks to fend off the cold.[1]
History[]
Karrak participated in the Tomakul Campaign. In the trenches near Tomakul in 44 AR, he interacted with the recruits, contrasting the seasoned veterans with naive newcomers. He witnessed Farid's grim lessons about survival, sharing a cynical view of war as more about enduring than heroics. With new orders signaling an attack, Karrak, Farid, and Aiman discussed deserting before the offensive, debating which recruits they could trust.[1]
Recently recovered from illness, Karrak felt the burden of impending combat. His actions highlighted the physical and mental toll on soldiers, embodying the disillusionment of those who had seen too much. Karrak joined Farid, Aiman, and Ehsan in a covert mission through the trenches, staying calm and quiet. He supported Farid's negotiation with Sergeant Usman and maintained morale among his group and the Argivians during a trade. Karrak was aware of the dangers they faced, including being labeled traitors if their knowledge of the attack was revealed.[1]
As they crossed the battlefield, Karrak maintained his composure, moving cautiously and keeping an eye out for danger. Upon reaching the abandoned Argivian trench, Karrak continued to assist in checking the area, staying vigilant despite the apparent lack of immediate threat. Throughout the events, Karrak remained a steady presence, his actions guided by a mix of pragmatism and a deep-seated sense of duty, even as the horrors of war weighed heavily on him and his companions.[1]
