Khudal was a rakshasa vizier of the Sultai in Tarkir around the time of the Khanfall.

History[ | ]

After an attempt on Tasigur's life, Ikra Shidiqi brought him to Khudal's chamber. She spoke an invocation beckoning Khudal from whatever nether regions he occupied, and the rakshasa stepped into the dim light from the hallway outside. Tasigur demanded to know who had committed this crime. Khudal mocked that he possessed the knowledge Tasigur sought, and would give it in exchange for Tasigur sparing the traitor's life. When Tasigur agreed, Khudal told him it was the honorable warrior Yala, who had done it. Anger seized Tasigur at this betrayal, and Khudal disappeared back into the shadows.

Tasigur did not keep his promise, and killed Yala in frustration and disgust, after learning that she was, in fact, innocent of the crime she had been accused of. Darkness overtook the room as Khudal appeared, whispering to Tasigur that he had broken his promise. When Tasigur confronted Khudal on his lie, Khudal admitted the poison had been his own. But Khudal had wanted Yala's soul, and Tasigur had denied him that prize. He would regret that mistake. Tasigur tried to use his whip on the demon, but he had already faded away, whispering that the Sultai had fallen.
