Lacey became entangled in a dangerous plot involving a stolen substance called Halo, which has potent magical properties. She provided a bottle of Halo to spellcasters, who then performed an experiment that resulted in an explosion. Lacey's involvement was more than mere reporting; she was seeking to create a big story to prove herself. However, things went awry, and her memory was wiped, leaving her in a stupor and unable to recall the events. It was later discovered that she had been manipulated by Lagrella, a Broker who sought to leverage Lacey's access and naivety for her purposes. Eventually, Kamiz, an Obscura agent, uncovered the truth and ensured that Lacey's mind was restored, thus clearing her name from the dangerous incident.[1]
