Lakil was a shepherdess from the small village of Lambholt on the plane of Innistrad. She was one of the victims of Old Stickfingers.

Description[ | ]

Lakil was a shepherdess from the village of Lambholt. She is known for her tragic fate, as her death is one of the key events that prompts the involvement of Vadrik, the archmage, and Rem Karolus, the inquisitor, in investigating the supernatural occurrences in the village.

Lakil was tending to her sheep in the pastures around Lambholt when she was set upon by a malevolent enemy. She was found dead in the pasture, a victim of a violent attack that left her body mutilated. Unlike other livestock deaths often attributed to wolves, her sheep were left untouched, suggesting a targeted and supernatural element to her killing.

Lakil’s death is a significant catalyst for the plot. It is her gruesome end that escalates the villagers' fear and suspicion, leading them to seek help from Vadrik and Rem. Her murder, along with other mysterious deaths and disappearances, underscores the urgent need to confront the dark entity terrorizing the village.

The narrative eventually reveals that her death, like others, was linked to Old Stickfingers, a mythical and nightmarish creature summoned by the villager Arinos and his daughter Ariosa. This connection ties Lakil's fate to the broader supernatural conflict in Lambholt.[1]
