Lyra Dawnbringer is an angel Commander of the Serra Angels of the Order of Dawn and Protector of Benalia on Dominaria.
Description[ | ]
Lyra is the leader of the Order of Dawn on Dominaria, named for the famous angel Reya Dawnbringer. Reya died defending Benalia during the Phyrexian Invasion of Dominaria. Now Lyra continues Reya's mission of protecting Benalia and is sometimes accused of being too involved in Benalish political affairs, a course of action she is more likely to justify than to deny.[1]

Lyra barred the entrance of Gideon and Liliana at the gates of the Benalia City, stating that the necromancer could not enter. After Gideon clarified that they were going to kill Belzenlok, and especially after Lyra read a letter of recommendation sent by Rael explaining the help of the two planeswalkers in Josu's defeat, Lyra agreed with Liliana's entry into the city.[2]
By 4562 AR, Lyra was leading the remaining Serrans on Dominaria, and had negotiated a new peace between Benalia and the neighbouring merchant nation of Orvada.[3]
