• 2021-02-22: Release of Secret Lair Drop Series: Black is Magic.
• 2021-02-19: Strixhaven: School of Mages is accompanied by the Mystical Archive, a non-Standard set of 63 reprinted instants and sorceries that appear in the boosters of the main set and will have a profound influence on the Limited environment. Commander 2021 releases on the same day and is connected to the Strixhaven set, as well.
• 2021-02-19: A sneak peek at Strixhaven: School of Mages reveals the five enemy colored colleges of Strixhaven: Silverquill (), Prismari (), Witherbloom (), Lorehold (), and Quandrix ().

• 2019-08-23: Release of Commander 2019.
• 2019-08-19: Wizards of the Coast launches the open beta of the Magic: The Gathering Companion app, a home tournament organizer. The Magic: The Gathering Portal app is consequently cancelled.
• 2019-08-14: Starting in August 2020, Magic: the Gathering’s Organized Play calendar will be moving back to seasons that are split over multiple calendar years. In order to fill the gap, the 2020 Magic Pro League season will be shortened to seven months. There will be no 2020 World Championship.
