Rift Era Mending Era Omenpath Era

The Mending Era is an era in history on Dominaria following the effects of the Great Mending, which reduced the powers of all planeswalker from near godlike, immortal beings, to much less powerful and usually mortal spellcasters with some exceptions.

Description[ | ]

Events in this era include the Great Aurora on Lorwyn–Shadowmoor, the Conflux on Alara, the release of Avacyn from the Helvault on Innistrad, the running of the Implicit Maze on Ravnica, the rise and fall of Xenagos on Theros, the release of the Eldrazi and their following attacks on Zendikar and Innistrad, causing the Travails and the formation of the Gatewatch, the devastation of Amonkhet, the War of the Spark, and the events leading up to and including New Phyrexia's Invasion of the Multiverse. After this invasion was thwarted, the Desparkening caused a massive loss of planeswalker sparks, rendering most planeswalkers without the ability to cross the planes at will. At the same time, numerous Omenpaths opened up, allowing anyone passing through them to travel between specific planes, thus starting the Omenpath Era.
