Mina and Denn are a pair of twin elves of the Mul Daya tribe of Zendikar.[1] Mina is what is known as a Greenweaver, able to channel the essence of their ancestors and their bond with nature into raw magical power.
Description[ | ]
Mina and Denn are unarmored, barefoot, and visibly unarmed save for their long knives carved from the poisonous woods of the Guum. In place of armor, vine-like markings snaked over both of their arms, messages bearing the words and lineage of their kin—dead, living, and unborn, their murmurs crystallized onto their skin. When the two left Bala Ged, they took with them the bones of their fallen that now adorned their dark red hair. Mina has her rank of Greenweaver's insignia carved deeply in wine-red ink on her forearm.
History[ | ]
Mina and Denn grew up with their tribe in the Guum Wilds on the continent of Bala Ged.[1] With the coming of the Eldrazi, their tribe, their people, and their home were lost.
The two elves traveled to far away Murasa to seek aid from the only remaining tribe of Elves, the Tajuru.[1] After encountering Eldrazi blight even there, they finally met a Warden of the Tajuru named Tenru. After sizing the siblings up, Tenru brought them with her to the grove of jaddi trees near her tribe's current camp. During an encounter with the newly released brood of Kozilek, Mina discovered that the ground of Zendikar was still alive beneath the crust of Blight, and she was able to tap into her Greensinger powers from there, weakening the Eldrazi drones enough that Denn could finish them off.
After the battle, Tenru brought the Tajuru leader, Nisede, to the twins.[1] Mina and Denn asked to join her tribe to hold the memories of the Mul Daya safe. Nisede accepted, and together they headed for Sea Gate to join their commander, Tazri, in the final battle against the two Eldrazi Titans.
