The Myojin of Grim Betrayal is the Myojin kami of ambition on Kamigawa.
History[ | ]
The Myojin of Grim Betrayal embodies the force of ambition. In ancient times, a warlord prayed to the kami to become the next Emperor of Kamigawa. The Myojin of Grim Betrayal answered his prayer, granting him unmatched battle prowess, and conveniently failed to mention that it had answered similar prayers from others and granted them the same boon. The ensuing clash ended up being the first in an era of dynastic infighting that history would later dub the Shattered States Era.[1]. It is not known how it is related to the Myojin of Night's Reach which also represents an aspect of black magic.
