Myrel was a non-binary soldier from the city of Penregon in the nation of Argive on the continent of Terisiare on the plane of Dominaria. They became scout-captain and Kayla bin-Kroog's right hand, staying by her side until the fall of the city.[1][2]

Description[]

Myrel had blonde hair tied back into a practical knot. When on duty, they wore cloth-wrapped cuirasss and wielded a large sword and a lion-crested shield, a green cape clasped over their armor. Their armor was often mud-spattered and covered by a dark poncho, a testament to their active field duties and the grim climate of the Brothers' War. Their readiness and experience in both reconnaissance and combat were evident, and their dedication and vigilance to guard against any incoming danger were invaluable.

History[]

Myrel played a crucial role in safeguarding Penregon during the Brothers' War. They did not stay only at their home city, but also participated in the initial campaign on Argoth towards the end of the war.[3]

Although it is unknown where Myrel was during the Sylex Blast, they did survive the war, and returned to their home city to be its scout captain. In this role, Myrel provided vital intelligence on the movements and composition of the approaching column of marchers from the Church of Tal, estimating their numbers and assessing their threat level. Myrel's observations and reports helped Kayla bin-Kroog and Tawnos understand the seriousness of the situation and the need for defensive preparations. Additionally, Myrel assisted in coordinating the city's response to the looming danger, ensuring scouts were rested and prepared for continued surveillance. When tensions escalated, Myrel remained steadfast, advocating for Kayla's safety and facilitating the city's defensive measures. Their loyalty and competence were pivotal as Penregon braced for the potential invasion by the zealous and armed marchers led by Raddic.[1]

During the aftermath of Tawnos's factory fire, Myrel delivered the grim news of the disaster to Kayla. They assisted in managing the Siege of Penregon and its aftermath, and in the years following the siege, Myrel's scouts became instrumental in exploring the surrounding lands and providing hope by discovering greener, habitable regions to the west. This information became pivotal for Kayla's plan to lead her people to safety. Myrel's loyalty was highlighted when they followed Kayla's orders without hesitation, ensuring the successful migration of Penregon's residents. Kayla's farewell to Myrel, marked by a maternal gesture, emphasized their deep bond and mutual respect. Myrel's departure with the scouts symbolized the hope and future of Penregon to Kayla, entrusted to find a new beginning for its people. Myrel's story after they left Penregon is unknown.[2]
