Captain Nagao (nah-GAH-oh;[1] Japanese:
History[ | ]
He was among the forces sent to retrieve Michiko when she left Eiganjo and got lost in Jukai. Nagao arrived at the kitsune village Sugi Hayashi and demanded the princess' immediate return. However, an akki horde was camping nearby and Nagao with the kitsune decided to stop them to ensure a safe return. During the fight, Nagao was wounded by Shujiro Yamazaki's bolt in the chest. Sharp-Ear, who accompanied them as a tracker, tried to pull him into safety, but was forced to leave him when a fireball-spitting kami arrived on the battlefield and the kitsune himself was wounded and had to flee to warn the rest. However, Nagao was miraculously found, brought back, and slowly recovered, helping to successfully destroy the fire-spitting kami.
Later, Nagao and his men, together with Silver-Foot and his kitsune samurai, accompanied Michiko to Minamo. There they were saved from the All-Consuming Oni of Chaos by Toshi Umezawa and Kiku. Toshi then ferried all the men to the relative safety of the kitsune village in Jukai.
