Lord Nellick was a human noble from Innistrad.

Description[ | ]

Lord Nellick was a wealthy and handsome figure with a high forehead and a patrician nose. He maintained an eerie composure and a demeanor of polite amusement despite the grim atmosphere surrounding him. His cold receiving room, filled with luxurious furnishings that failed to ward off the chill, set the stage for his interaction with Jacob Hauken and Detective Eloise Wicker.[1]

History[ | ]

Lord Nellick exhibited a relaxed demeanor and indifference to the cold during his initial meeting with Jacob Hauken and Eloise Wicker, making light-hearted comments about Innistrad's dire situation. He claimed innocence regarding geists attacking morally corrupt individuals, presenting himself as a mere businessman, but his overly casual and slightly mocking behavior raises Jacob's suspicion of hidden motives and a deeper, more sinister nature. Nellick's knowledge and abilities hinted at necromantic connections, and his subtle manipulations suggested darker powers. This darkness was Cyril Rav, and when Nellick shook Eloise's hand, he transferred this darkness into her.

Later, after Jacob Hauken understood that Nellick was Cyril Rav's host, he went back to the lord's mansion. He found Cyril in Nellick's form lounging in his dark, cold parlor, exuding a demeanor that mixed nonchalance with veiled menace. When questioned about necro-alchemist Cyril Rav and recent geist attacks, Nellick denied involvement but his behavior raised Jacob's suspicions. As their encounter progressed, Nellick attempted to possess Jacob, revealing his true necromantic abilities when he bled black blood after being repelled.

Cyril Rav in Nellick's body admitted to stealing influential bodies to maintain his power, expressing a preference for manipulating events from the shadows. In a final confrontation, he proposed an alliance with Jacob, offering protection and power in exchange for companionship, hinting at his loneliness and desire for partnership in a world increasingly dominated by darkness. Ultimately, Cyril and Jacob agreed on the partnership, and as Rav abandoned Nellick, his body gave out. Eloise found his corpse later, and neither Jacob nor Rav was present.[1]
