Olutio was a man from Innistrad who was partially responsible for the return of the angel Liesa.

Description[ | ]

Olutio was a gruff and determined individual, driven by a personal vendetta and a desire for protection from the undead. He was experienced in forbidden rites and rituals, possessing tomes and scraps of knowledge about ancient practices. His demeanor was rough and somewhat cynical, but he was dedicated to the cause of summoning the Buried Lord for the protection and peace of Innistrad.[1]

History[ | ]

Olutio was a man who had suffered the loss of his daughter to a ghoulcaller, leading him to seek out Algli. Together, they used Olutio’s forbidden rites to slay the ghoulcaller and rebury the dead. He introduced Algli to the concept of the Buried Lord, a being who could ensure the eternal rest of the dead and protect the living from supernatural threats.

Determined to summon the Buried Lord, Olutio collaborated with Algli and Sruta, enduring many years of failed attempts. The ritual they performed on one fateful night was their last chance, dictated by the alignment of stars and auguries.

Despite their preparations and the sacrifices made, the ritual appeared to fail. Sruta left in frustration, and Olutio's expression revealed the depth of their failure. He followed Sruta into the night, only to meet his end at the hands of the Buried Lord, who despite appearance had been awakened, not as a protector, but as a ravenous demon. Olutio’s body was found gutted, bloodied, and half-buried in the ground, marking the tragic culmination of his efforts and sacrifices.[1]
