Orhaft Stoneback is a human Vedrune from Kaldheim, and a member of the Omenseekers. Orhaft uses xe/xer pronouns. [1]

Description[ | ]

Orhaft Stoneback is a commanding and perceptive figure. Xe is a Vedrune, a type of rune-priest known among the Omenseekers. Orhaft is brown-skinned, thick, and solidly built, with a shaved head, elegant cheekbones, and a broad, beardless face. Xe wears green and blue robes that flow into a blue cloak, adorned with a necklace of long fangs from a sea-beast. Xer arms and belly are bare, revealing blue circular tattoos that extend from xer crown to xer fingertips. Xer pale green eyes stand out within these markings. Orhaft's personality is characterized by wisdom, wariness, and a strong sense of duty. Xe is skeptical of others, especially outsiders, and maintains a stern demeanor. Orhaft values prophecy and omens, which guide xer actions and decisions.[1]

History[ | ]

Orhaft supposedly earned xer name "Stoneback" by being stabbed in the back with a dagger and not noticing it for hours. When Niko Aris heard this story from Birgi, they severely doubted its authenticity saying such a thing would be impossible.[1]

While Niko was trying to stop the brawl between the Omenseekers and Kannah that was instigated by Birgi, Orhaft Stoneback remained aboard xer ship, away from the conflict on the shore. When Niko arrived to inform Orhaft and Fynn about the fight, Orhaft's focus shifted to the greater threat posed by the impending cosmic events - an invasion of Starnheim by the World Serpent, Koma. [1]

Orhaft and Niko engaged in a tense conversation about the captured Valkyrie Avtyr and the dangerous implications of trapping such a being. Despite the tensions, Orhaft agreed to assist Niko in traveling to Starnheim to warn its inhabitants about the potential catastrophe. Using xer magical abilities, Orhaft guided a ship carrying Niko through an Omenpath, enabling Niko to cross over into Starnheim in the flesh. [1]
