Orwell was a village bell-ringer from Gatstaf in Kessig on Innistrad. He was ritualistically murdered by Bes Palter and his body parts were arranged in a pattern to help her summon the demon Ormendahl. Orwell's body parts were arranged deliberately and ceremonially, intended to serve as part of a dark ritual. His corpse was discovered by Halana and Alena, who until then had suspected that werewolves were killing the villagers. But as Orwell had not been eaten, they realized a different type of murderer was loose in the village as well. [1]
