Pallar Ojanen is an Efravan leonin with a muscular build from Dominaria. She is the sister of Zar Ojanen and mother of Lark Ojanen.
Description[ | ]
Pallar has fur the color of a sunset over the Great Desert, a tawny shade accented with winding stripes of chestnut. Her feline features are complemented by expressive whiskers and a pink, tiger-like nose. Her humanlike hands are nimble, yet rough with calloused pads from a life spent outdoors. Her demeanor is gentle and kind, and she expresses her gratitude with warmth, often with a soft smile that reveals her gleaming white canines. As a mother, she radiates a blend of maternal pride and vulnerability, her eyes reflecting a deep concern for her child's future amidst the uncertainties faced by her people.[1]
History[ | ]
Pallar was an Efravan refugee who, along with her tribe, had been wandering the Great Desert in search of safety from the turmoil in their homeland. The Efravan were escaping the threat of the Phyrexians, a formidable enemy once thought to have been eradicated from Dominaria. During this time of crisis, Pallar was expecting a child, adding a layer of hope and urgency to her journey. She shared a close bond with her sister Zar Ojanen, a warrior fiercely dedicated to their people's survival. Despite the challenges they faced, including prejudice and hostility from the city of Femeref's inhabitants and authorities, Pallar remained hopeful and trusting in Niambi, a healer who offered support and guidance. Pallar's story was one of resilience and optimism, as she looked forward to the birth of her child and a safer future for her people. The story culminated with the successful birth of her daughter, Lark, and the reluctant but eventual acceptance of the Efravan into the city by Sidar Teshunda, thanks in large part to Niambi's advocacy and the magistrate's change of heart.[1]
