Paralyzation counters are a type of counter introduced in Ice Age. They freeze a creature for as long as they are on one.
Description[ | ]
Paralyzation counters first appeared on Dread Wight in Ice Age. It was a creature that would put a Paralyzation counter on any creature that blocked or was blocked by it. These counters caused the creatures to be tapped and freezes them. Each of the creatures also gains an ability to pay to remove the counter from it. The freezing represents the creature being paralyzed by the Wight.
Trivia[ | ]
- In Magic Online, the counter is colored orange as it is considered a negative effect. It shares an icon with Corruption, Death, Despair, Doom, Mannequin, Petrification and Soul counters.[1]
- Dread Wight's ability effectively creates weaker versions of Paralyze, in that one payment is sufficient to remove the effect, as opposed to Paralyze needing a payment every tap.
