Pinfinity is a manufacturer and marketer of collectible augmented reality pins for fans of entertainment franchises. Pinfinity partners with major studios, game companies, comics publishers, and personalities to develop licensed and exclusive drops.

Description[ | ]

Growing from a Kickstarter project, Pinfinity launched its site in April 2020 with Star Wars and Marvel Collections.[1]

Infinity Pins are powered by augmented reality, which starts with a camera-equipped device — such as a smartphone, a tablet, or smart glasses — loaded with the free mobile app]. When a user points the device and looks at an Infinity pin, the software recognizes it through computer vision technology. The device then downloads information about the object from the cloud, in much the same way that a web browser loads a page via a URL. A fundamental difference is that the AR information is presented in a 3-D “experience” superimposed on the object rather than in a 2-D page on a screen. What the user sees, then, is part real and part digital.

Magic: The Gathering[ | ]

Pinfinity started a licensed partnership with Magic: The Gathering in January 2021.[2] Starting with Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, all expansions received an accompanying collection of pins. Apart from the enameled zinc alloy pins, Infinity also partners with Ultra•PRO to create playmats with augmented reality.

By 2024, Infinity pins were integrated in WPN-events.[3]
