Pirate is a creature class that first appeared in Mirage.
Description[ | ]
Pirates are motley fighters and scoundrels who sail the sea and skies to loot and plunder the unexpected. Pirates are famed and feared for their unpredictability. Most pirates are blue. In the Grand Creature Type Update the subtype Merchant (Talas Merchant) was incorporated into the Pirate class.
Duel Decks: Pirates vs. Ninjas was a joke Duel Deck set for April Fools' Day 2008.[2] The set has not been released as a product.
More recently, pirates have been featured in Fiora and Kaladesh. The Ixalan block prominently features pirates as one of the main factions.[3][4] For Outlaws of Thunder Junction they were batched as Outlaws.
