It was 5 years since Urza left Tolaria for [[Yavimaya]]. K'rrick had found a passage to Tolaria and had an army of modified pyrexians to attack it. Barrin summoned all of Tolaria's defenses, but it was not enough. Finally, Urza remembers himself due to the beacon he gave Barrin. Urza gets reinforcements from Shiv which include [[Jhoira]], [[Karn]], [[Rhammidarigaaz]], viashinos, goblins, humans, and artifacts. Urza also gets the aid of [[Gherridarigaaz]]. Urza sought to kill K'rrick. He was about to be killed, but [[Multani]] lent Urza enough power to planeswalk into K'rrick. The rest of the phyrexian army was killed in the forest.

The Kor, Vec, and Dal were human tribes living on Rath. Each of the tribes leant their name to the Korvecdal. The Kor were the only one of the tribes to vary significantly from regular humans.

Those among the tribes who sided with the Evincar of Rath were labeled with the il prefix and those who opposed the Evincar received the en prefix. For example: Greven il-Vec.

Kor

The Kor are a human-like race that once lived on Rath. They had blue skin, slightly elongated skulls, and small barbels hanging from their chins. The Kor that served the Evincars of Rath were known as the il-Kor, while the ones that opposed them as the en-Kor. The Kor also lent their name to the Korvecdal.

Once native to another plane, the Kor were drawn into Rath by Volrath like with other peoples, such as the Vec, the Dal, and the Skyshroud elves. The en-Kor are a nomadic and deeply spiritual people who dwell on open plains and whose religion centered on the sky. In combat, the en-Kor emphasize damage prevention. (Their trademark ability to redirect damage they take to other creatures was designed as a "fixed" version of banding.) En-Kor twins were almost always trained as lancers. The center of their culture was the Kor Haven, a city built into living rock. After the Rathi Overlay and the Apocalypse, the en-Kor presumably adapted to life on Dominaria. The en-Kor are primarily white-aligned.

The il-Kor were servants of Volrath along with other inhabitants of the Stronghold. They gave up their nomadic lifestyle to settle in the City of Traitors, but remained hunters, often becoming thieves. During the Rathi Overlay, the city, with the il, were trapped in the shadow world between planes. By the time of Time Spiral, 300 years later, the il-Kor shifted from thieves to spies, using their intangible state to their advantage to steal secrets. Though originally black, after they were freed from Volrath's influence the il-Kor eventually shifted to blue.

In an alternate timeline, Rath's Evincar, Mirri the Cursed, subjugated the en-Kor as her personal slave race.

Vec

The Vec were a human tribe, possibly from Dominaria, who were trapped on the plane of Rath by the will of Volrath. They were divided into two groups: the en-Vec, who remained independent, and the il-Vec, who defected to Volrath's service.

The en-Vec were a seminomadic people who lived in small townships made up of thatch-roofed wooden buildings on the plains. They were fair of skin with dark hair, and often wore loose clothes and head-wraps. Spiritually devout, their culture centered around their priesthood and their oracles, and they built elaborate tombs for their dead. They had a strong military tradition motivated by religion. It is unknown how long their people lived on Rath, but it was evidently long enough to develop a system of myths about their new home. The en-Vec united with the other peoples of Rath in resisting Volrath. After the Rathi Overlay, the en-Vec presumably adapted to life on Dominaria free from Volrath's grip and may still exist in the present. The en-Vec were white and green-aligned.

The il-Vec were traitors to their people who joined Volrath's forces. Rogues and opportunists, the il-Vec also produced a number of fire mages due to their close proximity to Volrath's furnaces. After the Overlay event, many of the inhabitants of the City of Traitors, located at the heart of the Stronghold, was trapped in the shadow-world between worlds. Prior to the Overlay, the il-Vec were primarily aligned with black and red, but after Volrath's defeat some drifted back to white.
